Bruce Diederich, President
Bruce Diederich grew up in the roofing industry, beginning at an early age working for his father’s roofing business learning the shingling trade. Later on, he moved into the lumber industry selling material to homeowners, Builders and Developers in the Chicagoland area, eventually moving to Ft. Myers, Florida to continue his career. After a few years in Florida, he returned to the Chicago area where he worked for the leading local and nationally recognized roofing material Distribution companies in a variety of capacities for the next several years. Ultimately, though, his passion was in Contracting.
In 1998, Bruce purchased Waukegan Roofing, a well-established Chicago Commercial, Industrial and Residential Roofing Company in business since 1914. Since the acquisition, the company has made the decision to focus on Commercial and Industrial Low-Slope roofing projects, including a full-service in-house Service & Maintenance division.
Bruce has been in the building materials and roofing industry for over 45 years, serving in numerous local and national industry related trade associations in various capacities including:
- MRCA (Midwest Roofing Contractors Association) previously serving as a Director
- CRCA (Chicago Roofing Contractors Association) in various positions:
- Board of Directors
- Vice President
- 1st Vice President
- Past President
- CRC (Chicagoland Roofing Council) Union Roofing Contractors
- Past Member of the Labor Committee
Phil Diederich, Vice President
Phil has been with Waukegan Roofing for over 15 years and holds numerous certifications, such as GAF C.A.R.E. certifications, Air Vent ventilation expertise, and many others.
He is a former member of the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) Board of Directors and was the Co-Chair of the CRCA Emerging Leaders Committee. Phil is also a graduate of the NRCA Future Executive Institute.
Dan Kiepura, General Manager
Dan brings 40 years of industry knowledge and expertise through having worked in the roofing industry as a roofer, roofing contractor/owner, commercial roofing service department manager, estimator, salesman, project manager, and director of operations with several high-profile commercial roofing companies through the years.
Dan is a graduate of the NRCA executive management institute.
Dominic Marino, Sales & Project Management
Dominic’s roof industry career has spanned 39 years, including management roles in contracting, manufacturing, and distribution.
At Waukegan Roofing, he is charged with developing customer relationships, estimating, sales, and project management. Given the breadth of his experience, Dominic is well-suited to operate successfully in all areas and disciplines of our industry.
Josh King, Project Manager
Josh was “born to roof”. He can walk on almost any roof, no matter how high or how steep, and he excels at understanding what it is he is looking at and how to fix it right the first time. Josh has worked in the field as an Installer, a Service and Repairman and also as an Estimator. He has worked his way through the Roofing Apprenticeship Program to Journeyman Roofer.
Josh holds numerous certifications, such as Air Vent ventilation expert and GAF C.A.R.E. certifications to name a few. He is also OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certified, certified in asbestos handling and scaffold training and is Red Cross First Aid trained, as well as several other “hands-on” training courses from the industry’s leading Manufacturers.
Larry Koenigseder, Service Department Manager
Larry followed in his father’s footsteps and began his roofing career in 1980 as an Apprentice with the Roofers & Waterproofers Union Local 11, working his way up to Foreman within 2 years. Over the years, Larry honed his craft with various Roofing companies, learning different skills and techniques, and found he enjoyed solving problems working in the Service Department as a Serviceman. He became so efficient at finding and repairing leaks and solving all the customer’s needs that he later became the Service Department Manager in 1996. In 2007, Larry joined Waukegan Roofing and helped expand the company’s efforts in the Service and Maintenance business, where he continues to excel today.
Larry holds the OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certifications, is certified in asbestos handling and scaffold training, is Red Cross First-Aid trained, as well as having completed several other “hands-on” training courses from the industry’s leading Manufacturers.
Robert "Bob" Jeffries, Superintendent
Bob is a 5th generation roofer, having grown up in and around the roofing industry through his family’s commercial roofing company, Clayton Roofing (est. 1897). Following in his family’s tradition, he started as an Apprentice with the Roofers’ Waterproofers’ Union Local 11, eventually moving up through the trade to owning and operating Clayton Roofing. With the merger of Clayton Roofing and Waukegan Roofing, Bob brings a wealth of practical roofing and management experience to the firm.
Bob is OSHA 10 and 30-hour trained, CERTA Torch Certified and also has been trained in asbestos handling, scaffolding, Red Cross – First Aid, and has attended several roofing manufacturers’ “hands-on” roofing system training seminars. His vast industry experience and knowledge has helped our field production crews better manage the various situations that they encounter on the roof on a daily basis and perfectly promotes our company slogan of “Installing Roofs You Can Rely On”.
